Tía Chucha's Book Club was first established in 2018, in hopes to engage community members in literature that reflects their stories and challenges systems of oppression in a safe environment. The book club came about in the way that many of our programs have. At Tía Chucha's, residents and participants often propose, help create, and facilitate programs based on community interests and needs. Tía Chucha's Book Club meets once a month to discuss a book chosen collectively by current members. Our book selections have included genres in history, poetry, fiction, memoirs, mental health, feminism, and more.
Tía Chucha's Book Club meets on the fourth Thursday of every month (with the exception of major holidays) in person at Tía Chucha's Centro Cultural & Bookstore. For more information please email jackie@tiachucha.org
